Offering Furniture, Appliances, and Other Items for FREE | FREECYCLE

Freecycle is a members-only organization which aims to keep items out of landfills by providing an internet listings service to help people give unwanted items to someone else for free in their own community. Keeping stuff out of landfills helps build a sustainable future, is good for the environment and builds local and world communities.
Freecycle is made up of thousands of groups with millions of members across the globe. It's a grassroots and entirely nonprofit movement of people who are giving and getting stuff for free. Freecycle groups operate in specific towns or areas - so it's local as well as global.

Freecycle was started by Deron Beal in the USA in May 2003 and the first UK group was set up in October of that year. The worldwide membership is now over 9 million in more than 110 countries.

Search for Info on (Popular) Foods. Stop the Diet Rituals. | CALORIE KING

CalorieKing is about lifelong weight control. The site not only helps people lose weight, but helps people gain control of their weight and stop the annual diet ritual.

"Losing weight is almost always the first step, but lifelong weight control is the prize we seek."

The CalorieKing brand was born in 1996 with the launch of CalorieKing.com. The Web made the introduction of brand foods easier and offered a reasonable means to deliver updated information as food companies changed their recipes or product lines. The CalorieKing food database now includes more than 80,000 foods.

We searched for info on chocolate chip cookies and it gave various brands to choose from so we clicked on 'Subway':

and we took a partial snapshot of the results:

Drive-In Movie Directory for United States, Canada, and Australia | DriveInMovie.com

DriveInMovie.com was first started in 1998 and is probably the oldest online directory of drive-in theaters on the internet.

All their data in the database is gathered by their employees through research on the internet, discussions with drive-in theater owners, site visits and user recommended edits.

DriveInMovie.com also shows information about CLOSED Drive-ins to, as they state, preserve the history of different drive-ins for those who wish to stroll down memory lane or research drive-ins that have operated in their area.

The Airbnb-like Service For Dogs Who Need a Place to Stay | GoFetch

Proudly Canadian, GoFetch was founded in June of 2015 and is Canada's leading and number one choice for dog owners and sitters.

Based in Vancouver, BC, GoFetch is Canada’s largest community marketplace connecting dog owners with trusted dog walkers and sitters. With GoFetch, dog parents can discover, book, and manage personalized care for their dogs, including dog boarding and dog walking.

Thousands of satisfied owners. Thousands of happy dogs.

Co-founder Willson Cross said it offers opportunities for dog owners and care-providers to meet online and arrange short-term accommodation at an “average cost of $30 per night”.

“It’s cheaper than the average price for kennels — pets are getting one-on-one care. They’re not in cages, they’re with real humans,” said Cross.

Hear Voices From Around the World | LOCALINGUAL

David realized there was a need for more mother-tongue recordings online one day while backpacking on a trip through Europe. As a result, Localingual was created! Not only can you hear how native speakers say their own words/phrases - but you can hear how other people from different countries pronounce/say the same words/phrases too!

As he explained on his site:
Around 3 months into my backpacking trip, I was wondering around in Ukraine while trying to learn a few words. As hard as I tried, I would butcher the simplest of phrases such as "Good day" (Доброго дня). It was difficult to find Ukrainian vocals online, as it is not a widely spoken language, so I practiced by making a few voices recordings of Ukrainians I befriended.
Soon afterwards, I had the idea to post the recordings I've made online in an appealing fashion, and Localingual was born!  My dream for this site is for it to become the Wikipedia of languages and dialects spoken around the world.
